The disappearance of Kansas mothers Veronica Butler, 27, and Jilian Kelley, 39, has taken a tragic turn with the discovery of their abandoned vehicle in rural Texas County, Oklahoma. The vehicle, last seen with the two women driving through the Oklahoma panhandle, was found abandoned by the highway. The grim discovery of human remains, suspected to be those of Butler and Kelley, has deepened the mystery surrounding their disappearance.
Arrests made in connection to disappearance
Four individuals have been arrested and charged in connection to the disappearance of Butler and Kelley. Tad Bert Cullum, 43, Tifany Machel Adams, 54, Cole Earl Twombly, 50, and Cora Twombly, 44, face charges including first-degree murder, kidnapping, and conspiracy to commit murder. Despite the arrests, authorities have yet to disclose details about the suspects' motives, their relationship to the victims, or the evidence leading to their apprehension.

Adams, identified as the grandmother of Butler's children, was reportedly traveling with the two women to Oklahoma to pick up Butler's children from their paternal grandfather. Cullum, identified as Butler's boyfriend, and the Twomblys, known associates of Adams, are suspected to have been involved in the kidnapping and murder, although the exact nature of their connections to the victims remains unclear.
Tense circumstances surrounding disappearance
Reports suggest that Butler was embroiled in a bitter divorce with her husband, seeking full custody of her children and increased visitation rights. The situation escalated as tensions between Butler and Adams, who had custody of the children, intensified. Separate pools of blood found outside the abandoned vehicle, along with blood splatters inside, add to the disturbing nature of the case.
